Chapter 4
Ada Wong: The medicine. It's working.
[Black Robe is like a beast furiously roars to instill fear in Ada. The creepy hide-and-seek begins. With his powerful hearing, Black Robe is able to hear even the tiniest movement but Ada, even in heels, moves almost silently. As soon as Black Robe thought he heard her behind the column, he instantly jumps to the spot, but Ada has already moved to the other side of the column. Black Robe leaves the hallway, believing Ada is not here.]
Ada Wong: Luis has the Amber... I need to reach him. Luis's footprints... Must have gone this way.
[She descends into a medieval cellar and starts moving lower and lower, opening doors and eliminating fanatics.]
Ada Wong: Down we go.
[She finds a scrap of paper lying on a rough wooden table (which on closer inspection turns out to be an instrument of torture).]
Ada Wong: What is this?
[Luis's Note]
Ada,
I hope it's you reading this.
I'm going to the mine tunnels to try and regroup with Leon. I overheard Ramón on the castle intercom saying that Leon's heading that way-and right into trouble!
You can get there through the waterway. It's dangerous, but I'll leave some signs to point you in the right direction.
[She goes even lower, entering a sort of dungeon. On the floor, she sees Luis's notes on where to go.]
Ada Wong: A nest? Hope it's not a sign of things to come.
[She needs to go down the drain to get further, however it is filled with water.]
Ada Wong: I'm not swimming in that.
[Ada finds another merchant's store, which this time is located in a separate room.]
Merchant: Dealt with a request, have you? Oh, today’s gonna be a great day! Good stuff, stranger! Got some rare things on sale, stranger. I'll buy almost anything. Ah... I'll buy it at a high price. Stranger! Oooh, I'll pay a pretty penny for that. Where you gonna put this, your pocket!? All yours, stranger. There you are, as you wished. We're starting to get an idea of your tastes, friend. Knife needs care every once in a while. Could be the difference between life and death.
[Salazar Family Chronology: Waterway]
For many years, the existence of the waterway beneath the castle was forgotten. According to our records. it was built by 3rd Gen. Count Gregorio, The Architect.
The reason for its construction is unclear, but it may have been done to contain the deadly insects that plagued his predecessor, Count Hipólito. Water is, after all, a symbol of purity for the Salazar family. Gregorio's Waterway was rediscovered during the excavation of an underground tunnel under the orders of the 8th Gen. Count Ramón.
The elaborate, beautiful architecture is just one example of Gregorio's iconic work.
He redirected the river to flow underground, creating both a waterworks and sewage system. It can even be used as a water storage facility during times of drought. The construction can only be described as a magnificent feat of architecture for the time.
But its beauty is wasted on our ruling simpleton! The only interest he showed in the place was using it as a tool to drown those who dare oppose him.
Insolence! Gregorio must be turning in his grave!
[After updating her gear, Ada exits the store and kills the flying creature with her first pistol shot.]
Ada Wong: Bring me a challenge.
[She shuts off the valve, draining the water.]
Ada Wong: That should take care of the water...I hope.
[However, all soon she still has to walk in the muddy water and even swim a little. Her mood does not improve. Ada becomes a little cynical. She kills a flying creature without even looking in its direction.]
Ada Wong: Oh, buzz off.
[She walks further and further, following the inscriptions, without which it is possible that she would have wandered much longer.]
Ada Wong: Thanks for the directions, Luis.
[Walking further, Ada has to face a large group of fanatics and a mutant with claws. She then gets into an elevator. As she rides it, she hears the roar of Black Roba, who can't find Ada.]
Ada Wong: You again?
[Stepping out of the elevator, Ada meets another merchant.]
Merchant: You're sure to find something you'll like. Your valuables won't da you much good in the grave. A deal well struck, heheh!
[She walks onto a badly mangled metal bridge, suspended over a large circular arena. The whole place resembles a factory or a place where some kind of production was performed. The Black Robe standing in Ada's way. It has been hunting her for a long time.]
Ada Wong: I need to put that thing down. That's it! Come on now!
[She runs away to lure her opponent to a more convenient place to fight.]
Ada Wong: This spot will do.
[A brief fight ensues between the two. Ada jumps down into the cave, and Black Robe jumps down after her. Eida uses her hook gun to lob a piece of bridge at Black Robe, but he throws it aside, however the bridge rips off his robe and it turns out that this mutant also has a huge tail like a scorpion.]
Ada Wong: Can't stand the clingy type. Time to end this for good.
[We learn that Black Robe is actually named Pesanta. Ada has to fight him in the rather confined space of the cave. She dodges spikes from its tail and shoots it with a shotgun, occasionally stunning it with grenades.]
Ada Wong: My turn. You're not even trying.
[After a while of fierce fighting she stuns the monster and finishes it off with her heel, flying up with her hook gun. Housekeeper's Barrette falls out of the defeated monster. However, just as Ada approaches the corpse and picks it up, the monster's tail grabs her and throws her into the abyss. After which it attacks. It turns out to be a separate living creature.]
Ada Wong: Ugh... Not exactly what I expected. You're not getting away. Had enough?
[After another fight, Ada defeats the giant mutant insect. It curls up and dies in agony. However, Ada herself becomes ill. She falls to the ground and vomits. A worm comes out of her, which she crushes with her boot.]
Ada Wong: Now...to find Luis.
[A few minutes later, she gets a call from Luis. He's obviously not feeling well.]
Luis Serra: ...Ada... A bad guy...Krauser...just stole the Amber! Leon's fighting him now.
Ada Wong: I'm on my way.
Luis Serra: I'm sorry. I'm not going to make it. I'll send you my files. They should help...
Ada Wong: The Amber, Luis. Where is it?
Luis Serra: Thank you for the chance to do good again.
Ada Wong: What are you saying?
Luis Serra: I'm grateful... Like I said, I'm just your good ol' Samaritan. How about you help Leon when I'm gone, eh? Speaking of, ugh, sounds like he needs me. Leon!
[There is the sound of a gunshot. Ada runs through the narrow passages of the cave, climbing ladders and using her hook gun to get to where Luis is pretty quickly. She sees Krauser running away and Luis lying on the floor with Leon standing next to him.]
Ada Wong: Krauser...
Luis. The goodbye's gonna have to wait.
[She gets on the cable car and goes after Krauser.]
Ada Wong: You're not getting away.
[She calls Leon.]
Ada Wong: Leon. There's only time to say this once, so listen up. They took your friend to the top of the clock tower. If you hurry, you might get there before she turns into one of them.
Leon S. Kennedy: Ah, so you aren't heartless after all. I guess I should be...thankful?
Ada Wong: Yeah, you should.
[She ends the call.]
Ada Wong: Now, back to Krauser.
[Using her hook gun, she gracefully climbs the scaffolding that furnishes the medieval Gothic building. She sees Krauser galloping down the ladders in the distance.]
Ada Wong: How'd he get over there so fast?
[She goes down into the caves and as she makes her way through, she meets the Merchant who is as happy to meet her as usual.]
Merchant: You're sure to find something you'll like. Welcome! What can I interest you in? Oi! Oi! Psst! Better buy something while you can. You may regret it later... A deal well struck, heheh! I don't always have this in stock, stranger. This kind of work is about finesse, stranger. Little bit goes a long way. You'll see... Pleasant travels.
[Ada continues to make her way through the weak torchlit caves, fighting zombies. When she gets out of them, she finds herself on the other side of the castle, the same place where Krauser kidnapped Ashley and Leon met Ramon.]
Leon S. Kennedy: Ashley!
Ashley Graham: Leon!
Ramon: Such a fool, Mr. Kennedy. To have been bestowed with Lord Saddler's grace, and yet fail to—
Leon S. Kennedy: You talk too much.
[He shots Ramon.]
Ada Wong: Good boy. Just keep him busy a little longer.
[Ada herself goes off in pursuit of a fleeing Krauser, who has Ashley on his shoulder. As she gets on the elevator, she gets a call from Wesker.]
Albert Wesker: Report.
Ada Wong: Krauser has possession of the Amber.
Albert Wesker: You continue to disappoint me.
Ada Wong: I'll have it back before long.
Albert Wesker: See that you do. The mission must proceed as planned.
Ada Wong: Understood.
[Wesker hangs up the call.]
Ada Wong: Gotta keep the client happy.
[She gets off the elevator and starts exploring the castle dungeon also packed with zombie fanatics. She hears a creepy long growl.]
Ada Wong: Damn it.
[She picks up the key to the boat lying on a crate and hides when she hears someone's footsteps.]
Ada Wong: Leon.
[Leon runs into the dock and gets in the boat and starts looking for the key, realizes there isn't one.]
Ada Wong: Looking for something?
[She shows him the key she just found.]
CHAPTER 5
[Ada hides behind a pillar in the vast hallway, waiting for the medication to work (and whether it will work at all). Black Robe slowly follows her like a hunter after his already-caught prey. Ada takes her gun out of its holster and prepares to sell her life dearly. Suddenly she feels much better and the dark veins on her face disappear.]Ada Wong: The medicine. It's working.
[Black Robe is like a beast furiously roars to instill fear in Ada. The creepy hide-and-seek begins.
